The map
Quality you can read at a glance.
Water is drawn by classification tier, so a drainage you have never fished still tells you where the good water is. Access points are marked by type, public land is shaded from USGS PAD-US, and your saved spots sit on top, visible to you alone.

Fishability Score
A number you can argue with.
Every stream is scored 0 to 100 from its own flow history, water temperature against the species holding there, weather trend, light, season, and hatch probability. The score always shows its reasoning, so when you disagree you can see exactly which input you disagree with.
- Scored per stream, so one blown out river does not poison the whole region
- Plain-English factors: what is helping, what is hurting, in order of weight
- Hard capped during thermal stress, with the warning shown instead of the score
- Refreshed as gauges report, not cached overnight

Two good hours beat nine average ones.
RiseCast scores the next 48 hours one hour at a time and hands you the windows. Solunar major and minor periods, sun angle and cloud cover, the daily water temperature swing, and the hatch window for that specific water all fold into one readable curve.

AI Fly Box
Ask the water, not the bargain bin.
The AI Fly Box reads the live conditions on the stream in front of you, the regional hatch model for that water, and the most recent report from a shop that fishes it. Then it names specific patterns, sizes, and how to fish them. It is the answer you would get from a good shop employee who already knows what the river did this week.
- Patterns with sizes and presentation notes, not a list of famous flies

Every score is built from readings you can inspect yourself. Open the conditions panel and you get the gauge, the forecast, and the trend, credited to the agency that published it.

Circles
Invite only, and that is the whole design.
A circle is a small private group: your regular crew, the two or three people you actually trade information with. Share a catch, a photo, notes on how the water fished, or the exact spot, and choose which of those goes out every time you post. No public profile, no follower count, and no discovery feed putting your water in front of strangers.
- Per post sharing. A photo and a note is one decision, exact coordinates is a different one
- Enforced by the same row level security that keeps spots private, so a circle is a real boundary rather than a display setting
- Small on purpose. This is a group text that understands rivers, not a social network

Verified catches, not fish stories.
Every fishing story is a claim. Length gets rounded up, the good ones grow over a season, and nobody can prove anything. We are partnering with Fishtechy to change that. Drop their Proof Ball next to your catch, take one photo, and their AI returns verified length, girth, and weight in seconds. RiseCast carries those numbers into your journal untouched, where they lock.
The Proof Ball is the part that makes it hold up. A known-size object in the frame gives the AI something real to measure against, so the number is derived rather than guessed. It also means no tape measure and no hanging a fish from a scale, which is the same reason we cap scores in warm water: the less time a trout spends out of the river, the better.

Structured summaries of shop reports with the shop's name and a link straight back to the original. We drive traffic to shops, we do not replace them.
